Besides room is fairly small, deco is fancy, bed is good, but else really falls below standard.
Don t think would check-in again. Great new year party, nice room, wonderful bed, great bar, nice people. The hotel is well connected with transportation and the room is clean. Staff are very helpful. The flower market Sunday was a highlight with coffee in hand. Would return, albeit in hope of an early check in in without charge next time. This would be a 1 star hotel except for the fact that the staff was friendly before and during our trip.
I stayed in a B and B after The Curtain and the room was twice as big!! The Curtain was fab from start to finish. Beautiful surroundings with luxury everything! Service a bit slow in dining area on terrace, but staff lovely and friendly and did anything for us. It was my sons graduation and they left cake and fizz and a sweet little card for him which I thought was a splendid touch!
Glad they are so security conscious though. Would definitely stay again. Brilliant hotel. Roof top area is great for drinks and food. Decent prices as well! We family with baby stay 8 nights at this hotel and we had a pleasant stay. Staff are very nice and friendly, Manager Andre also give us complimentary dinner because of minor mistake from another room. He does excellent job. The hotel is very clean and new.

Swimming in London
I am staying at the Intercontinental Hotel Westminster and like to swim everyday and need a pool that I can swim laps. Need as close to hotel as possible and really clean etc. Otherwise you could hop in a cab to Hyde Park and take a dip in the Serpentine. There aren t a whole load of publc pools near central london after looking myself. Most are attached to top end hotels or health clubs and are either for guests only or for a considerable membership fee. But that s not exactly near westminister. You could look at the Oasis centre in Camden. However, as a post said, Central London is not the obvious place to look for lap pools. Even if you find one, it is likely to be very busy. It will also be a public pool as I really don t think private ones will be big enough, so while no doubt technically clean it won t be as beautiful as a small pool in a spa.
Inflatable and metal-frame swimming pools are a cost-effective and convenient alternative to a traditional swimming pool, taking up less space, using less water and providing greater flexibility. Our wide range of self-assembly swimming pools includes paddle pools for kids, hot tubs with jets, and inflatable and metal-frame oval, octagonal and rectangular swimming pools for the whole family. You can also browse a broad selection of pool accessories such as goggles, arm bands, inflatable lilos and floating drinks holders. Above-ground swimming pools can be inflatable and either hard or soft-sided with a metal frame. They can be set up and removed easily and deflated and stored out of the way between summers.
London’s best swimming pools
To outsiders, the pond is hardly inviting: Competent swimmers only. On a Tuesday morning in December, a clutch of women, mostly in their fifties and sixties, were half-naked, clutching quick-dry towels and fuzzy bobble hats, which a few kept on while swimming to avoid losing body heat. A lone swimmer was doing a determined crawl far out near the limit rope, gasping with every second stroke, while, closer to the ladder, three women wearing hats and floral swimsuits tried to catch their breath. Julia Dick, a sixty-three-year-old former lawyer, was going hatless as she lowered herself into the pond, as she does every other day, in a black-and-white geometric swimsuit from the now shuttered high-street staple British Home Stores. For many of the women who come here day after day, year after year, it has become a special kind of oasis. It helped me with the death of my parents. And with menopause, all the mood changes. A good rule for winter swimming is never to stay in for more minutes than the number of degrees it is in the water.

London should be lauded for its 21st century lido renaissance , but it also has some fine indoor efforts. From barrel-vaulted Victorian palaces of water, to spanking new Olympic venues, these indoor pools are the best this city has to offer. There s pleasure to be had just in ogling Zaha Hadid s undulating Aquatics Centre — not to mention reminiscing about all the breathtaking things that happened here during the London Games. Fortunately, you don t need to be Tom Daley or Siobhan-Marie O Connor to take a dip; this is part of the legacy, which means for a few quid, you can do the backstroke and admire the flowing ceiling, while getting some exercise. Tackle one of the crazy-high diving boards, should you dare. Also swim in: We have a soft spot for it — it s got the crazy diving boards again, plus it tends to be less congested than the Aquatics Centre. Porchester Spa is a turn up for the books — a gorgeous, barrel vaulted tub with accompanying Turkish baths. It s the latter where the real excitement is to be found — a sweating, swearing mass of flesh and gossip , that s as fun and as salacious as any good boozer.
